On July 2, but in 1776 and after the legal separation of the 13 colonies of Great Britain. Thomas Jefferson wrote the principles of independence whose project is attributed to Richard Henry Lee.

Two days later, on July 4, Congress discussed each of the points and finally approved it. Reason for which the independence of the United States of America is commemorated. Although the date is debatable for many historians, it would later be confirmed in other writings by Jefferson himself, but also by Benjamin Franklin and John Adams.

Every 4th of July in the United States is celebrated in a big way, in addition to being a holiday, fireworks are widely used, both sports and gastronomic outdoor events are held and of course its classic patriotic parades.
